Back in October 2020, the plans for a proposal to build a £1 billion Leicester A46 Expressway bypass were dropped see here which would have impacted our local roads and traffic volumes.
However, we still have concerns that further roads to the south of Sapcote and potentially through Stoney Stanton’s green space might go ahead to allow the HNRFI and the proposed housing developments.
The HNRFI plan currently does not include any bypass roads around our villages (but major changes to the M69 junction would mean increased traffic all around the area)
The LWSS current proposal includes new roads around the area as outlined below. Potential bypass options are indicated as dotted lines:
SAVE OUR GREEN SPACES
The potential highway connection illustrated above, is one potential bypass road proposal that would carve its way through our valuable green recreational space and public footpath between Stoney Stanton and Sapcote.
What can I do about this?
